Appleyard Media Ltd has been working with C-SCAIPE, the Centre for Sustainable Communities Achieved through Integrated Professional Education, on their launch (5th October 2006) which was chaired by BBC Radio 4's Jim Naughtie. C-SCAIPE is funded for five years by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). C-SCAIPE will address the delivery of sustainable communities by producing graduates capable of working with all professions, taking an holistic approach to the concept of sustainability.

Countryside Alliance - www.countrysidealliance.org
Ross Appleyard worked with the Countryside Alliance on a film about fishing and schools over summer 2006. The film showed some of the positive work with which the Countryside Alliance is involved. Pupils from a school in Gloucestershire are taken on fishing trips, with the aim of introducing them to countryside issues, to raise their awareness about the local environment and to show the huge contribution that angling and anglers make to the health and prosperity of Britain's waterways.

Appleyard Media Ltd worked with the Irish charity, GOAL, over 2005/06. Ross Appleyard visited a region of Darfur in the Sudan, the Jebel Marra, where few journalists have ever visited in Dec 05. The film footage resulted in a seven-minute piece on Sky News; pieces on ITV Cental News, BBC North West Tonight and Ulster Television in Belfast. The piece has been syndicated worldwide through Associated Press Television News through Sky News and through ENEX (European News Exchange). Ross also visited Calcutta with GOAL in Feb 2006. This resulted in a 10-minute documentary on Sky News.

Appleyard Media has worked with Kingston University's Designing for Sustainability Research Group as part of the wider WestFocus Sustainability in Practice (SiP) Network. A consortium of seven universities across London looking at issues around sustainability in design, architecture, surveying, GIS and enviro-entrepreneurship, Jo Moulds raised awareness of the Network and its design lecture series, special projects and areas of academic speciality around London.

A PR client of Appleyard Media, The Organic Salon was launched by founder Claire Knapp in Dec 2005. The carefully selected organic skincare ranges are available to be bought online. The Organic Salon strives to supply only the highest-quality products derived from an ethical and safe source.

Appleyard Media has been working with Saf on a PR campaign to raise the new company's profile amongst the promotional merchandise press. The campaign has resulted in stories in Sales Promotion, Promotions Buyer, Images, Printwear & Promotions, Incentive Today, Incentive Business, Natural Products, Treehugger, Organic & Natural Business and European magazine, Eppi.

Over Dec 2005, Jo Moulds worked on raising the profile of the North London Recycling Forum (NLRF) with Environmental Alliances. Penney Poyzer, star of the BBC2 No Waste Like Home programme, was guest speaker at the event.

Appleyard Media Ltd has been working with Tesco Stores Ltd in association with the Food Animal Initiative. Tesco hosted its biggest ever open day for hundreds of beef and lamb farmers at the Food Animal Initiative in Oxfordshire in Aug 05. The FAI is a 1,000 acre mixed livestock farm which has close links with Oxford University. It undertakes research into ethical animal husbandry as well as being a fully working farm. Appleyard Media filmed the day for Tesco. DVD and video versions of the film will be used at conferences around the world and to demonstrate changing practices to other Tesco buyers and suppliers.

RCOD - Classic Yacht Regatta 21st-23rd July 2005 - www.rcod.com
Appleyard Media Ltd worked on profile-raising and corporate sponsorship deals for the Classic Yacht Regatta at Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex in July 05. Over 1000 people arrived in Burnham-on-Crouch for one of the most historic yachting regattas of the year. The Royal Corinthian One Design is a class of yacht which has been described as "the MG sports car of the sea". Three days of racing captured the romance and history of these special boats, which were designed in 1934 and have changed very little since.

London Remade, inspired recycling - www.inspiredrecycling.org
Part of a government initiative to assist designers and businesses working with recycled materials, inspired recycling is an influencing factor in giving designers and inventors the key skills they need to move from graduate design into business and entrepreneurship. Appleyard Media Ltd assisted inspired recycling in raising profile and targeting designers in key areas for economic development and business support.

The Building Exploratory works with over 7000 schoolchildren in Hackney each year helping them discover their own sense of place and an introduction to architecture through a hands-on exhibition. The Building Exploratory receives accolades from visitors of every age and from all walks of life: from Lord Richard Rogers to the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) to Arts Council England (ACE), English Heritage, and many more. Appleyard Media has been involved in profile-raising for the Building Exploratory, one of London's most interesting organisations.

Jo Moulds of Appleyard Media Ltd is a contributor to Building for a Future magazine and also assists with exhibition organising and sales. An exhibition for BFF this year was the highly successful Eco Build Conference & Exhibition at Earls Court, London, 22-23rd Feb. The event is to be repeated 27 Mar-1 Feb 2007.

Appleyard Media worked on a short PR campaign for Green Moves, the UK's first eco-property website. The PR campaign resulted in press in the Guardian, the Independent, City to Cities magazine, Positive News, Green Parent magazine and 'm' magazine for Britannia Building Society.

First Mile is a new British company looking at UK waste management from an environmental perspective. Currently working with retailers Joseph, TM Lewin and Lush, First Mile is a London business expanding fast. Appleyard Media has helped with profile-raising and marketing strategy.
